I don't think "Boot Sale" has hit us yet, I seem to give everything away to people that have just moved into a new flat to help them out.

Very true!

I thought I had made my peace with it but evidently, I haven't and its come back with a vengeance lol.

I can't do sale shopping, hate rummaging so garage/car boot type stuff is sooooo not me.

I plan on calling the airline and lying that I am going to get married as they always let you have a bit extra, then when I check in, I pray it’s a bloke that checks me in so I can flirt my way through getting the rest through. Failing that, I'll just pay! I think it was Dawn Bev on the blue side who said I wouldn’t need heels, that’s not even an issue, even my flat collection is in double/triple figures…. much will be getting left behind :(

20k is NEVER enough, they just dont think of everything a girl needs on these trips and case alone weigh 6-7 kilos empty these days......suggest new gal you wear everything in fact maybe 15 layers of clothes and 10 hats and your snorkeling gear and then 10k will cover the toiletries and shoes in the case.

I had to abandon the teabags and bottle of Baileys last time it was horrendous !

I heard a friend went Egyptair and took 60k, never surely !! she must have had a blind check-in assistant I say.

I have been with Egyptair with a lot of excess from the uk but I think they may have turned a blind eye cos the flight was going to be delayed which meant I missed my connection in Cairo to Luxor, they did put me up in a hotel overnight in Cairo because it was their fault. One time when I moved back to Luxor from Sharm for a while I went with 40kilos of hold luggage and about 20kilos of hand luggage, the man who loads the bags onto the weighing machine pointed out the weight to me I just smiled and said 'not a problem' and bunged him a few LE....he was happy to let it go through!
I'm not afraid of tomorrow cos I've seen yesterday

Have always found Egyptair very good when it comes to excess baggage, have never been charged for it and sometimes was well over.Seems to be the charter flights that are really strict and charge you for everything

I always fly Egyptair, and have always come back well overweight, I checked in my weight was 78 kilos, she didn't bat an eye just straight through, and then on top of that I had my hand luggage which I couldn't carry on my own LOL. Egyptair have always been good with baggage allowance.

Futhermore Nilegoddess, was that my Baileys you abandoned????????????

yes HL it WAS the very precious Baileys and 2 bottles of wine that I had to abandon plus left a pair of trainers shoes....they wanted to charge me £35 for an excess of 3 kilos !!

Maybe I will break the bank and start looking at Egyptair for the future the thing is its normally £280-£300 for a return flight with them against £130-£165 that I am paying with Easyjet.

And this is why I love KLM.
2 bags of 23 kilos each in the hold and 10 kilos hand luggage. Think I should be able to fill most of that! 8)

Booked through Thomas Cook, they are THE worst when it comes to baggage allowance but Egypt Air only fly from Gatwick I think and it takes me nearly as long to get there as it does to get to Hurghada so I sacked that off.

It'll be fine, will just pay for the excess plus friends will be coming over so they can bring stuff. I may come back too after a few months so can bring some more stuff then.

If you come back after a few months it's more than likely you will have to use egyptair as you wont be able to use charter flights
