I have tried this hairdressers/beauty treatments and can recommend them. Ladies Only!

Has anyone tried the hairdresser in the Marina? There prices seem very reasonable but am a bit scared to try after previous disasters with other places.

Gee thanks Hurghada Lady! when we were at the marine last week I didn't actually see anyone in the salon, perhaps they were in the back.

My daughter actually cut my hair. I had gone to one in the Esplanada Mall and specifically said I didn't want layers. He cut about 6 inches off. Amanda cut it for me last week, another 6 inches so it is just resting on my shoulders now and feels great. I have the swing back.

Probably like most women I am always hesitant about using a new place in case they mess it up. Perhaps when my roots need re-touching I will pay them a visit - the grey is starting to come through quicker - oh no - another senior moment!

I haven't been to that hairdresser that cut layers and six inches off yours since Marina died, she used to do my hair all the time. Thats when I moved to Beauty Style, Marlene has done my hair since.

Yes Marina was brilliant at cutting, haven't tried the new girl though.

Yes Marlene is very good although a bit heavy handed with the head massage.

A new place has just opened beside me. I called in yesterday and its only 20le for manicure, 25le for pedicure or 40le for both. A hair cut is only 25-40le. The prices seem too good to be true. I think I'll go and have the man/pedicure done and see what the place is like. Then it'll be a wash and blow dry, before I'll even consider letting them near my hair with scissors.

I'll report back soon with a verdict.

Thank god I didn't let the woman near my hair with a pair of scissors.

I asked for a wash, blowdry and 'iron', came out with half curly hair that dropped in about 30 minutes.

Got a pedicure and picked a dark red polish, once she had done that she put white dots on each nail and then gave me a big smile. I just smiled back but thought to myself 'Do I look 13'

The manicure consisted of just having my nails painted, no file or nice hand creams.

She threaded my eye-brows, needless to say one is thicker than the other!!

All this for 100le and not one thing was right.

Time to search for a new hairdressor!!

Now it's my turn to have a giggle for a change! What's wrong with white spots on your nails girl? As for your eyebrows - good grief!

Don't keep us in suspenders - which establishment is this and where is it?

It's a place in behind new metro in El Kawser.

Luckily she didn't put the bloody spots on my finger nails, I managed to stop her before she did it.

I went to the German place in Esplanada Mall that HL recommended. I got a pretty good hair cut but I had asked for about an inch of the length and she took off 3 inchs.

At least its even and not like a dogs hind leg like the last place I went to.

Good price as well, only 144le

Yes that was my quibble with them. Very heavy handed with the scissors. I was actually asked why I wanted long hair!!!!!! Because I do!!!!!!!! Next question.

Okay girls am going to be brave and try the one at the Marina during my Xmas break. Will report back but if you see someone with a brown paper bag over their head, take pity on an old woman and say hello.

I finish on Saturday until the 2nd January. I will have to log on and check my work though as any complaint has to be commented upon within strict deadlines. At least I will be away from the office.

Sorry Hurghadalady, still haven't been. There was just so much going on I ran out of time and what with Mr. C heaven knows when I am going to find time.

Grandson and his girlfriend coming across 2nd February so maybe during my break then!

To bring this up to date I like Transform on Hadaba hill just past Calypso, she speaks excellent English and we had a proper discussion about what I wanted before she washed my hair. The cut has lasted too.
