We all have regrets,
It's like anywhere though, the difference in culture, standards and how easy it is to get stuff in the UK compared to here are frustrating.
If you can get used to that then you have cracked it...
I don't like to have regret's, i call them something else... "i tried it, it was not for me" lol

As I am nearing my moving date (2 weeks this Friday) and a little nervous/anxious, well not during the day but keep having weird dreams, thought I would re-open this thread for an update and ask....
Does anyone have any major regrets???

NG ~ Its normal to have these dreams, it just your sub concious trying to rationalise (if thats spelt correctly!) things. Stay positive you will be fine ~ Everyones experieince and feellings will be diferent and can confuse and infulence other peoples ideas whether correct or not. Im sure you wouldnt be influenced to such an extent as you seem such a decsivie and organised person.

A day without laughter is a day wasted!

Thanks a lot Karenh, appreciate the positivity, think its just due to the horrendous last few weeks and then financial issuess too means that I am not feeling as secure as I had hoped to.Karenh wrote:NG ~ Its normal to have these dreams, it just your sub concious trying to rationalise (if thats spelt correctly!) things. You're right, I am sure I will be fine, thanks once again. Would be interesting to hear from people like Undutchable, Aisha, Jujey etc to see how they are feeling and the ever so elusive Wendwoo who I am very concerned about!!

NewGal..... I never regretted it for a minute!!
My plan, when I moved to Hurghada was this:-
Either I stay a week, or I stay the rest of my life.....no fixed plan!!
I stayed 4 years, then I met thie great guy (Now my husband) whose plan was similar to mine!
I was kind of tired of working as a diving instructor.... we decided to move to the US.
I don't regret a minute of my time in Egypt..... been back several times since....
But I also don't regret leaving Egypt!!

NG you are luckier than a lot of folk hon in as much as your move was your choice based on your positive experiences of Egypt, and you have so many people who can and have backed you up, they will continue because they all know how nerve wracking a major move like this is.
You have been many times and have never wavered in your decision, so that tells me you are going to be fine, and at least if god forbid it isnt what you want on a permanent basis you have a home to come back to.
Years ago Alan had a job in Saudi meaning he would be away for 2 years with just 2 week breaks to come home every 4 months and he had nothing to compare it to and knew no-one who had been there, but as we discovered that was part of the excitment

No regrets
I'm still here, still having a ball. Have loads of new friends, have started diving, life is always what you make it. Go out, make the effort to do stuff, go places, meet lots of people. You'll like some more than others and find your niche. If it's not for you, at least you gave it a go, which is more than most people ever do.
Thank you Christine and Wellheld, I am definitely thinking of this move as positive, was never allowed to go swimming so want to learn that and maybe diving, want to get into aid and charity work, lots of other goals such as learning Arabic and many others that I know it will definitely be an adventure, maybe its just that have spent last few weeks at home, all cosy and chilling out that the fear of the unknown is more obvious now.
Never lived alone so maybe thats what I am a bit apprehensive of and my family is absolutely bonkers so that will be strange having a bit of quiet! CANT WAIT FOR IT!!!!
Sure I will be fine, thanks for all the positivity and good wishes, I really could not have done this without the support of some of you, I really have to name Christine, HL, Claire, Nanny Ogg and Karenh here who know all my problems, fears and qualms and have been so nice to me that I will ever be in your debt peeps
Lee has also been great, as great as blokes can be
JOKE, hes fab so is Fablux and BBlux, Dee and so many others but now my Gran is giving me the evil eye to get off my lovely lappy and start rolling chappatis so I must dash!!!
