I know it might be some time before I get some feedback, due to it being summer, high season, scorching heat etc....
And there 'might' be already a topic existing about schools, but I just couldn't find anything...hope it's ok with the Mod Squad to open up a new topic.
Anyway....I am looking on info on getting my little boy to school here in Hurghada. Main reason right now is to attain knowledge/fluency in Arabic, as it's minimum entrance requirement for Al Azhar...and they won't accept him until he can be taught primarily with Arabic language only (religious wise makes sense, because need to understand what you're learning.)
Ok, what i want to know, what school are out there who accept foreign students with absolutely no Egyptian roots and no arabic knowledge? What kind of paperwork is needed? What are the 'usual' fees? He's right now 7 yrs old, already lost the last year without school and would be starting 1 st grade primary. Also what is the 'normal' way of fixing the paperworks? I mean, i heard no temporary resident visa unless a child is enrolled/accepted in School, but on the other hand no child will get enrolled/accepted into a school without a resident visa...now how is that supposed to work??? Extra baksheesh everywhere? Or Vitamin C (connecitons)?
It's just a little germ of an idea at the moment...but I'm throwing it out to those of you that live there / know the place.
For the past 20 years I've been involved in education in the...

I'm coming to Hurghada for the first week of Feb before going to Luxor for 3 weeks. Two questions - what's the temp like (day and night) and is it high, med, or low season.
Thanks
