Wow!! I never even realised you could eat the paper!!!
What a wasted childhood I had!!!
I also loved Acid Drops.... if you ate too much of them the roof of your mouth would become raw and sore!!
Sweet tobacco... I loved that stuff!! It was like eating a horse-hair mattress!! When I think about the connotation now... it makes me want to throw up!!!
I love this thread!!!!!

Yep, that was the best use of Blackjack - I believe they're not allowed to sell them anymore - the old political correctness gone mad thing.

Yes I remember the half p but that's boring sweets are more interesting altho you lot like different thinsg than me.
Well I have kids and I can announce that you can still get black jacks and fruit salads and you can even get extra large black jack chews but they are not as nice as the smallers ones.
Are n't treats more or less the same as minstrels?
Old Jamaica choc I sued to love that.
Don't you have any of those old fashioned sweet shops near you? You can get all the old favourite there but they cost so much more!!! There's even a retro sweet web site!
I like
sherbert pips
cola drops
pineapple chunks
rhubarb and custard
sherbet lemons
toffee bonbons
any sorts of toffee
pink shrimps
banana sweets
Can't stand those swizzles sweets or flying saucers.
What about cherry lips? I used to love those but got some recently and they tasted like soap. And as for those violet sweets ... gross
I want some sweets now!!!
