Maybe those domestic science classes in school back in the 50's did do some good. Nowadays I don't think cookery is taught at all.
I learned to cook as a teenager because my mother worked on Saturdays and I had to feed myself and my father so between us we coped. Now I quite enjoy cooking...its just the cleanup I hate

I must admit as much as I love cooking and baking I dont get a chance nowadays as my other half loves cooking (hates cleaning up afterwards though!) and is an really good ~ only down side he always makes lovely sauce to go with your main meal and theres always things like Sticky Toffee pudding with ice cream or rhubarb crumble for afters! Not good for my weight! (keeps weight watchers in business though!)
