Hi everyone - visitor from L4u with a question. Has anyone info on the Magma Aparthotel near Dahar ? Woud it be a good choice for a week to explore Hurghada , swim in the sea and find horses to ride out in the countryside? This place is advertised at 20 G.B.P a night. Or do you have a better suggestion ? Thankyou - jayway - |

Hi Jayway
Dont know the Magma, some others might, but my favourite cheap place in Dahar is Geisum Village, next door to the Sand Beach hotel, they are both very basic , but are well situated to get ay where really, clean, and serve fairly good food all at a reasonable price.
Both of these Hotels are egyptian owned and run situated right on the beach, and Geisum Village has a lovely pool.
There is also the Cinderella, but dont think there is a pool, not sure as ive only ever had drinkies there.
Also both The Geisum and Sand Beach have been recomended several times on the blue side very recently, and happily not just by me
Good luck with the hunt. |

| Well, it has been unusually hot, I get up at six and am out on Glory as the sun rises, then back before 10 to shower both of us- lovely! Last week I had to shower the hens too, it was 35* at lunchtime. I eat melons and tomato, too hot for cooking. At 2 months old the farmers foal has found out about jumping and ate six big melon in one night, I couldnt be cross as she is so cute - -Port is too heavy - its Martini time here! and the sardines are just delicious - - |

Goodness - so much to read having not been on here for a while!!
Magma Apartments are apparently at Hurghada Dreams! What happened there then? Last I saw the apartments were for sale!!
If you find any good horses Jayway - I'd love to hear about them |

| Here, in the Algarve, Portugal, there are good horses all around, but as we only get grass once a year most live in. I was so missing my mare when I was in Luxor -I tried camel lessons and found I was completely useless. The donkeys were fine to explore with, all the ones I borrowed are now familiar with carrots ! The horses were, well, eermm - very nice but like going from a Merc to a Mini ! I still hope to find a decent animal to ride on my next trip, forever the optimist - - |
