The Red Sea Aquarium is currently having a new brochure done and the owner asked me to do some photos for him.

When I first came to Hurghada in 2001 the aquarium was my favourite place to go.... I loved it!

In that case you'll be pleased to hear that they're expanding it big time, putting in a huge display pool and in the future there are plans for a walkthrough tunnel.
Also, very few of the fish in there die nowadays  |

Well, taking fish from the sea to put them in a tank is never particularly eco-friendly, but it does raise awareness of the red sea and its marine life which can only be a good thing.
It also allows those who can't dive or snorkel to see, up close, some of the amaing creatures that live here. |

Lee where exactly is this aquarium, ive been to one and it was atarting to expand, im wondering if its the same place, started out as a tiny litle family run business years ago but began the expansion 2 years ago.  |

Lee, I don't know those reference points, but is it the one where you walk through a bar, outside onto a terrace, down stairs on the right and around the back to the entrance, and it has a shark tank in the middle? From what Christine said there is another one... thought there was only one.
If it is the one we were taken to, it wasn't too bad, but we thought the tanks too small. Pleased my amateur shots came out as good as yours! Got some great video footage of the sharks getting agitated with each other, too. |

| Yes that's the one WI, he's in the process of building a big open tank and has plans in the future to make it like a mini "sea world" |
