Try any of Jean Sasson's books all written about the middle east and some of them she wrote as a ghost writer for a Saudi Arabian princess giving a very good insight into their life. All very good reads :)

 Join the club love.
Tell you what i did, i ran out of my blood and gore books a year or so back, only a temporary set back i hasten to add, so i pinched the Kids collection of " The chronicles of Narnia", i hadnt read them since i was a kid, and i really enjoyed revisiting them as an adult, they were really good fun. :)
